HAIR BRUSH
Did you know that brushing your hair can be as important for the health of your hair as a good shampoo or conditioner? There was some truth to your grandmother’s advice to brush your hair a hundred times before going to sleep!
If done properly, brushing with a natural-bristle brush restores the hair by taking out impurities, stimulating the scalp, and redistributing natural oils.
CLEANSING
Brushing is a kind of dry shampoo, since it eliminates impurities that accumulate both in the roots and in the shafts. Therefore, it’s good basic hygiene, and you won’t feel the need to shampoo as often.
STIMULATING
Massaging the scalp lightly with the brush helps distribute natural oils evenly, restoring shine, promoting resilience, and maintaining overall health.
STRENGTHENING
Brushing can prevent hair loss. Natural bristles stimulate the capillaries and promote blood circulation in the scalp, transporting oxygen and nutrients to the roots. The massage also activates the sebaceous glands, and helps the distribution of natural oils all the way to the ends of the hair.
HOW TO BRUSH YOUR HAIR
Make sure your hair is dry and untangled (use a wide-tooth organic comb).
Lower your head.
Brush your hair from the nape of the neck towards the forehead and through to the ends. Don’t forget the sides.
Breathe deeply while brushing.
Raise your head to its natural position.
Brush lightly from top to bottom, and style.
Note: Do not brush the scalp or roots of the hair vigorously so as not to alter the function of the sebaceous glands and cause over-greasing.
WHY A SOFT BRUSH?
Soft, natural bristles provide just the right amount of stimulation and are ideal for all types of hair. They give hair shine and structure. It should feel like a caress; and who couldn’t use more of that?
ABOUT OUR HAIR BRUSHES
Each of our natural-bristle brushes is unique and made by hand. They are are sourced and made locally in Ecuador by indigenous women, part of a community that manages resources sustainably and responsibly. The bristles are made from horsehair, cut as part of the grooming that horses receive. Each brush is then illustrated and finished by v2.
HOW TO CARE FOR YOUR BRUSH
To prolong the life of your brush, remove any hair that remains in the brush regularly and clean it occasionally with warm water and some shampoo.
